Lance McDonald, of Framingham, was convicted on Tuesday, July 24, with two counts of rape, one count of armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and wiretap violation, the Middlesex District Attorney said.

McDonald was accused of meeting up with a 42-year-old woman at a Red Roof Inn on April 25, 2022, after responding to an ad for sexual services, authorities said. The woman told police that he physically and sexually assaulted her before pulling out a knife and threatening to kill her, hitting her in the head with a coat hanger, and robbing her, the prosecutor said.

Police tracked down McDonald using the hotel's surveillance system. They found a video on his phone that showed him with the victim that was taken without her knowledge, the prosecutor continued.

McDonald will be sentenced on July 31.
